Why mulch?

Chopped wood and leaves remains, commonly known as "mulch" are used mainly for decorative purposes around the garden. They have a lot more useful purposes than just helping the landscape look manicured.

A very important use of mulch is to retain moisture and level temperature both in summer and winter seasons by buffering temperature between seasons. Mulch is also a great solution for places like Florida where water drought is constant and there's more water irrigation prohibitions during the week. The mulch itself, helps to reduce water evaporation, giving thus, more time to the soil to adbsorb the water from irrigation.

Besides processing garden waste and decorating your garden, the wood chips can also be used in the winter to heat up wood stoves that can significantly save you energy costs in gas and electricity up to more than 30% combined.

Mulch can also inhibit unwanted weeds and some plant diseases, but be careful, because mulch if used too much in excess - look for volcano mulching- can mitigate the plant's growth.

When using your YARDBEAST Chipper to create mulch, make sure you try with differente tree branches as a combining them could render beautiful colorings, unique to your garden.
