Q1. What's a wood chipper for?
A.A wood chipper is a machine designed to disintegrate organic material, more specifically wood material; that is no longer in use and can be identified as debris or garbage.
Q2. How does a wood chipper work?
A.A wood chipper can be designed in different ways. Essentially, it has a mechanism -generally consist of rotating blades-that slices the wood in small particles. A wood chipper shredder does this but also, comes with impact hammer that will hit these “wood slices” until the size is good enough to go out through a size screen.

A.The YARDBEAST works with two 180-deg apart blades. These blades are heat treated to Rockwell C50 hardness for superior durability and impact resistance.
Q7. How often do I need to replace the blades?
A.If correct use of the chipper is done. The blades shall be sharpened two to three times more before replacing them. Every resharpening should be done every 25 hrs. This will depend a lot on the type and dryness of the material to be chipped or shred.

Q17. How often do I have to change engines oil?
A.One of the most important & most asked questions. The engine oil has to be changed every 25 hours of use. Generally, we use Briggs & Stratton 4-cycle engines. These engines use SAE-30W oil. Remember that is due to the nature of the use of the wood chipper and its engine that will determine how often an oil change has to be performed.
Q18. What kind of oil do I have to put on the engine?
A.In general, SAE-30W oil. Only use fresh clean oil for changes.
Q19. Does the clutch needs any maintenance?
A.Contrary to popular way of doing things, the clutch DOES need maintenance. Please go the Knowledge Base page to find information in how to give your clutch maintenance, and that way to extend the life of the component.
Q20. Do the bearing units on the rotor need any maintenance?
A.Yes, please refer to Knowledge Base page to find information in how to give preventive maintenance to your bearings.
Q21. My chipper feels like it’s not chipping wood anymore. Makes loud noises and feels like its hitting the wood rather than cutting it. What is it?
A.Your blades probably need to be re-sharpened or replaced. After many uses, the edge of the blades start to dull, losing all cutting effect. Instead they start impacting the wood; when the blade becomes duller, the blade is exposed to more impact energy, thus creating excessive vibrations and forces on the machine. Although we recommend re-sharpening the blades every 25 hours of use, we highly advice to re-sharpening when you feel you think it’s about time to re-sharpen.
